while wearing

To protect your gold-plated pieces and prevent oxidation, remove your jewelry when doing housework, gardening, exercising, showering, bathing, using a sauna, or during other activities that involve heavy sweating. You should also be careful with chemicals, such as those found in creams, perfumes, or hairsprays.

storage

Store your jewelry in a dry, airtight container, away from direct sunlight. Soft-lined boxes are best. And keep the pieces separate, otherwise they can cause mutual oxidation.

cleaning

Rinse the jewelry carefully under clear, lukewarm water or gently clean it with a damp cloth, then dry thoroughly and store in a dry place. Persistent moisture can cause the gold plating to wear away and silver to oxidize.

lapis lazuli

Particular caution is required when cleaning jewelry with lapis lazuli – aggressive cleaning agents, sharp objects, vinegar or alkalis can destroy the structure – the gemstone “dies” and appears dull.
